About our pool

Toddler’s pool

Our toddler pool is 3m x 3m and heated all season to make it ideal for splashing with your little ones.

Main swimming pool

Our main pool is 25m x 9.1m and heated to 28 degrees, so it’s a good temperature the whole time we are open.

Where to find us

You’ll find us in the park between Newton Road and Ashburton Road, Bovey Tracey.

Sat Nav users follow TQ13 9FF.

From Ashburton Road, go through the gate into the park, next to the playground.  Walk round the football club, and the pool will be straight in front of you.

Use the main entrance for all sessions, except early morning and lunch-time swim sessions, which are accessed through the side gate because the Kiosk is not manned at these times.

Parking

There is off-road parking within the recreation ground with access off Newton Road either, in front of the tennis courts or on the grass area between the tarmac drive and the hedge. Please respect the Cricket pitch and walk around it.

Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool is a charity, and relies on your donations

We are grateful for anyone who uses our pool – the money goes to keep our facility open.  Ticket sales are our biggest income in the year.  Choosing Gift Aid when you come to the pool provides a tremendous benefit to the pool, and we’d ask all our taxpaying users to help us in this way.

But we also need to fundraise to ensure our survival.  Any size donation is most welcome.

What our visitors say

Having the pool here in Bovey has really helped my training for distance swimming. I come in the early mornings, and was able to build up to swimming the Dart 10k.

About us

The Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool Association is a Registered Charity run by a dedicated group of volunteers.

The Pool is a 25 x 9.1 metre “open air” heated pool. There is also a 3 x 3 Metre Toddler Pool which is maintained at a constant 85 degrees Fahrenheit (~29C).

We have separate male and female changing facilities with baby changing tables and hot showers powered by solar panels.

We also have a family/disabled changing room with shower facilities.

We are able to provide a disabled chair hoist on request to assist entry and exit from the pool.

We have a well-stocked kiosk selling crisps, snacks, ice-creams and drinks to be enjoyed on our spectator terrace or in the adjoining park after your swim. We also stock swimming goggles, armbands and swimming nappies.

If you could offer the pool some of your time and skills we would be keen to hear from you. We are always in need of of all kinds of support but, we particularly need someone to oversee our PayPal and Gift Aid systems. Please contact us via email at boveypool@gmail.com if you think you can help us.

New Fencing

Our fencing has been under constant pressure from our young footballing friends next door so we have had to erect a new perimeter high fence to protect our swimmers. This has cost us a pretty penny, I can assure you, so please respect our decision to cover costs by increasing the entrance prices this year. […]

Why you should choose Gift Aid

Bovey Swimming Pool is now claiming Gift Aid from the government, and this needs your help! We have adjusted our ticket prices to reflect the increased costs but, when visiting the pool, we will ask you if you would like to pay our Gift Aid rate.  If you say yes, you’ll be charged a few […]
