Privacy Policy

You’ve probably always wondered if your local swimming pool was holding lots of personal information about you, and now is your chance to find out!   This might not be the most interesting page on the website, but we intend to fully comply with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR).   Both excellent bedtime reading if you get a chance.

Who we are

Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool is a registered charity.

Our website address is: https://www.boveyswimmingpool.org.uk.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We’re a small charity swimming pool, and data isn’t really at the heart of what we do, but we do collect a little bit of information.

If you buy a season ticket or pass on this website, then we collect your information (especially your name and email address) in order that we can process your request, and get you your pass.   You also have to pay for it, and that is done direct with PayPal – that agreement is with them, and we never see your financial details.

Cookies

We do use some cookies on the site, and you can see the detail on our cookies page.

They help us work out who visits our site, and some of them come as a result of us integrating with things like Google maps and Facebook.

When you first visited this site, you will have been asked if you were happy to have these cookies.  If you’ve changed your mind, then you can opt out on the cookies page.

All in all, we’d rather have a real cookie from the bakery.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We collect anonymous analytics data, to see how many people use our website.  We don’t know who you are, and don’t link this to any other information.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share your data that you provide to us, except as described through cookies which you’ve chosen to receive.

If you buy a season ticket or make a donation, this is processed by POWr.io and Paypal.  You can see their privacy policies here and here.

How long we retain your data

You can see how long all of our cookies last on our cookie page.

All other data is only retained for as long as required to provide the service to you.

What rights you have over your data

If you have provided us your personal data, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
